The utility bill most businesses have never questioned
The commercial water market opened to competition in 2017 — yet most businesses are still with the retailer they were handed on day one. That's usually where a saving is hiding.
Three ways a water bill loses you money
The rate itself
Default retail rates are rarely competitive. We compare your tariff against the retailers competing for your business.
Billing errors
Wrong rateable values, surface-water drainage you shouldn't be paying, long runs of estimated reads — we validate the bill line by line.
Usage
For higher users, a water audit can find leaks, inefficiencies and allowance claims that cut consumption itself, not just the price of it.
Business water FAQs
Can my business really choose its water supplier?
Yes — since April 2017, businesses in England have been able to choose their water retailer (Scotland deregulated in 2008). The water itself and the pipes don't change; the retailer who bills you and sets the price does.
What is a SPID?
Your Supply Point ID — the reference that identifies your water supply, shown on your water bill. Separate SPIDs exist for water and wastewater. It helps us quote quickly, but a postcode is enough to get started.
Will switching interrupt my water supply?
No. It's the same water through the same pipes — only the retailer billing you changes. The transfer is handled between retailers and typically completes in a few weeks.
What if my bills have been wrong for years?
It happens more than you'd think — wrong rateable values, surface-water drainage charged incorrectly, estimated readings compounding. A bill validation can recover historic overcharges as well as cutting the ongoing rate.
