Compare business electricity prices — properly

Every quote we give is built on your actual meter, usage and contract end date, priced across the whole market. Standard meters are usually quoted the same day.

What affects your price

Three things decide what you pay per kWh

Your meter type

NHH, half-hourly, Economy 7, maximum demand — each is settled and priced differently. We quote against the profile your meter actually has.

Your usage & shape

How much you use and when you use it. Larger or half-hourly supplies get bespoke prices; overnight-heavy usage can suit multi-rate tariffs.

Timing

Wholesale power moves daily. Locking a renewal early in your window — sometimes a year out — can beat waiting until the month before.

Common questions

Business electricity FAQs

When can I switch my business electricity supplier?

At the end of your current fixed contract. Most suppliers open a renewal window up to 6 or 12 months before your end date, so you can lock a new price early. Some contracts also require a termination notice — we check yours and serve it for you.

What is an MPAN?

Your Meter Point Administration Number — a 13-digit reference (shown in an 'S' box, usually bottom-left of your bill) that identifies your electricity supply point. Every accurate quote starts with it, but if you can't find yours we can look it up from your postcode.

What's the difference between half-hourly and non-half-hourly meters?

Half-hourly (HH) meters record consumption every 30 minutes and are priced bespoke against your usage profile — typical for larger sites. Non-half-hourly (NHH) meters cover most SMEs and can usually be quoted the same day.

What happens if I do nothing at renewal?

You'll usually roll onto out-of-contract or deemed rates, which are often substantially higher than a negotiated fixed contract. The renewal letter itself is rarely the best available price either — it's the opening offer.
